Saraab Episode 4 Review: Hooriya’s mental condition is getting worse
The HUM TV drama series Saraab addresses mental health issues, as the protagonist of the play Hooriya is an advanced-stage schizophrenic patient. Sonya Hussyn is wonderfully playing the role of a mentally ill person who is battling her illness and is also facing people around her who don't believe her or take her treatment seriously except her cousin Asfand.
The episode begins with Hooriya's engagement, Hooriya is clearly not happy with her engagement, and deep down she has the feeling that she is betraying her cousin Asfand, who is angry with her. Once again, she hallucinates that Asfand has sneaked into her house and also that he intends to hit her with a stone. She starts screaming and shaking, she tells her mother and sister about Asfand and also that she has broken the window glass with stone. No one is willing to believe you because the window glass is not broken at all.
Asfand's family comes up with their proposal for Hooriya with baskets of sweets when Warda prevents them from entering the house and she tells them that Hooriya's engagement is taking place in the house with her brother-in-law. Asfand's parents are surprised to learn that Hooriya's parents haven't even minded telling them about their engagement let alone inviting them. Asfand says that he is completely sure that Hooriya is not happy with this engagement and that he will marry her no matter what.
Hoorriya's mother, instead of taking her daughter to a psychiatrist, decides to take her to some Peer Baba for treatment. Neither her sister nor her father advised her mother not to take her there. Asfand is upset when he learns that they are taking Hooriya to a couple instead of a psychiatrist. He asks Namal that when she is in the worst mental condition why have they made their commitment when she clearly knows that he and Hooriya love each other very much, Namal gets upset with this, she just snubs Asfa and says she shouldn't intervene . in their affairs and also that this commitment is made with the consent of Hooriya.
Hooriya's mother takes her with a typical companion, even though Hooriya feels uncomfortable there, she insists that she keep quiet. Well, this typical Peer reveal doesn't make any sense, how does it hit her mother's senses like that? How does the pair know about Asfand and her mother? It seems like a pretty exaggerated scene and it doesn't make any sense. Peer tells Hooriya's mother that she is under a powerful magic spell made by a woman from her own family and that also that woman's son is also involved in that as he wants to marry Hooriya!
